  Sam Daniel Campbell was born and bred in Australia, hailing from the beachside suburb of Clovelly in Sydney. He is the middle child of the family, with an Aussie mother and a Scottish father, who met when his mum was visiting Britain for her 21st birthday. They had a whirlwind romance and the rest was history. Sam is an identical twin, being born second to his brother, Mark. Their parents thought they were set with a ready-made family, but were surprised by another baby boy, James six years later. They brothers couldn't be more different if they tried. Mark was the typical big brother with a wicked sense of humour, sheer determined ambition, and grew up with a distinctly promiscuous nature. Sam was the quieter one who just always stepped back into the shadow of his brother's big personality, was more of the nurturer of the family, and was headed for Med School. He chose Cardiology as a speciality when their father had a heart attack when the twins were fifteen years old. James was analytical one of the trio, and had a natural genius intelligence to him. He always wanted to be a cop, and nothing ever wavered him from that. When the rest of his family made the move to America, Sam stayed in Australia because he didn't want to leave Michelle, his high school sweetheart and only girlfriend he ever had. They went through college together, Michelle also making it into the same Medical School at the University of Sydney with him where she studied to become an Endocrinologist. They never rushed into marriage, but it was always a given. They tied the knot, and Sam couldn't have been more happy with plans of a baby already well in the works. But it wasn't meant to be. Just before their one year wedding anniversary, Michelle was diagnosed with terminal breast cancer. She passed away three months later and lost their first child due to the strong dosage of chemo they gave her. Heartbroken and lost, Sam contemplated leaving Australia to go to New York to his family, but at the last minute decided to sign a five year contract with Doctors Without Borders as a supervising physician in Africa. To this day, he can't explain what drove him to that choice, but he felt like he had to do something to remind him his life was still work living and had meaning without his wife. Things only got worse, however, when he soon got news of James' murder and he nearly cancelled the DWB contract entirely to go to New York to be with his family. It wasn't an easy contract to get out of, though, and he had commitments with the service. The entire time was a blur, but he soon learned that James' death wasn't true and he had been returned safely to New York. The five years in Africa is now up for Sam and he is finally heading to New York to be with his family who he misses like hell. He accepted a job with the Cardiology Unit at Mount Sinai Hospital, and is starting to feel like he is ready to make a fresh start with life. He just isn't entirely sure where to start, and wants to figure out if he is ready to face the dating scene again.    Sam exists for musebox/PSL, |
